Olympio Metals Ltd (ASX:OLY) has completed a comprehensive 23-hole, 2,715-metre diamond drilling program at its Cadillac Lithium Project in Quebec, Canada, revealing significant lithium-caesium-tantalum geochemical fractionation trends that highlight the area's substantial lithium prospects. The drilling campaign, conducted across four pegmatite dykes, has yielded notable discoveries including spodumene with grades reaching 2.3% lithium oxide in the Dyke B area, significantly expanding the project's known lithium potential beyond initial expectations.
The combined results from drilling and prior surface sampling indicate that the LCT pegmatites cover a much larger area than originally anticipated, creating opportunities for expanded regional exploration across the company's 190-square-kilometre landholding. This expanded understanding of the geological framework is crucial for targeting future exploration efforts effectively. The recent drilling has successfully delineated two distinct zones of fractionated pegmatites, suggesting the presence of multiple generations of LCT mineralised intrusions within the project area.
Olympio Metals has secured $1.1 million in funding through Canadian Flow-Through Shares, positioning the company well for the upcoming field season and continued exploration activities. This financial backing will support the testing of numerous high-priority pegmatite targets identified across the extensive land package. The geological insights gained from the recent program will directly inform the company's exploration strategy, with particular focus on areas displaying elevated potassium-rubidium fractionation trends that are closely linked to lithium mineralisation.
With over 400 known pegmatites identified within the Cadillac Project area, Olympio is strategically positioned to advance its exploration activities in the coming weeks. The company plans to leverage the latest geological data to systematically target the highest priority areas, building on the promising results that demonstrate the project's growing significance in the lithium exploration sector.
